What we record when you visit
When you visit They Sent It, our web server receives the standard information sent by every browser: your IP address, the page you requested, the date and time, the browser and operating system you are using, and the address of any page that linked you here. We use this information only to keep the site running and to diagnose problems.
We do not build profiles of individual visitors and we do not sell or rent any information about you to anyone.
Cookies
This site stores nothing in your browser unless you interact with optional features or analytics are on (see below).
When you accept or decline analytics, we store a small record of your choice in your browser's local storage under the key tsi-consent-v1. That record contains only the word "accept" or "decline" and is never sent to any server. It stays on your device and is read the next time you visit so the site does not ask again.
To show the newsletter sign-up box at most once per visit, we keep a count of the pages you view during a visit (tsi-nl-views and tsi-nl-shown, cleared when you close the browser) and, if you subscribe, a note that you did (tsi-nl-pop). These stay in your browser and are never sent to us.
We do not use advertising cookies, social-media tracking, or any cookies that follow you to other websites.
Analytics - Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity
This site uses two third-party analytics tools: Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC) and Microsoft Clarity (provided by Microsoft Corporation). If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, or we cannot tell where you are visiting from, neither tool loads unless you click Accept on the cookie banner. Everywhere else they load by default, and you can turn them off at any time under Cookie settings in the site footer.
Google Analytics 4 measures how pages are used, which pages are visited most, and how visitors navigate the site. The data is aggregated; we do not receive your name or email address. Google may process this data on servers located outside your country. Google's privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Microsoft Clarity records mouse movements, clicks and scrolls to show us where visitors encounter difficulty. To protect your privacy, every text input on this site is masked before it reaches Clarity, so nothing you type is recorded. Microsoft may process session data on servers located outside your country. Microsoft's privacy statement is at https://privacy.microsoft.com.
Both tools set cookies and connect to their respective servers. Their data collection is governed by their own privacy policies. We have no control over what those companies do with data on their own platforms beyond what their policies say.
Email addresses you give us
If you subscribe to the They Sent It newsletter or submit a request via a form on the site, we collect the email address you provide. We use it only to send the newsletter or to respond to your request.
We do not add your address to any other list, share it with third parties for their own marketing, or sell it.
Accounts
If you create an account, we keep the email address you sign in with, or the name and email your Google account shares with us if you sign in with Google. We also keep what you do with your account: brands you follow, emails you like, dislike or save to collections, and pages you have viewed while signed in. We use this only to run those features for you. It is not public and we do not sell it. You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it by writing to [email protected].
Your choices
You may decline analytics at any time by clicking Decline on the cookie banner (shown to visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), or by clicking the Cookie settings link in the site footer and choosing Decline. Your choice is saved in your browser. Declining removes the analytics tools; no cookies are set and no data is sent to Google or Microsoft.
If you have already accepted and would like to withdraw, click Cookie settings in the footer, then Decline. The tools will stop loading on your next page view.
To request deletion of any data we hold about you (for example a newsletter subscription or a form submission), please write to the contact address below.
